I told someone last summer that I would never ride with him again; I would drive, because he answers his e-mails and texts while on the road. This student-created video gives the stats, and a local school mourns a student lost this way this fall. Be careful - you're not only taking your own life in your hands during that split second!

Giving Your Students the World
For up-to-date, exciting challenges for students, I am so impressed with lessons using Google Earth and Google Maps. Google continually updates their resouces, adding great new features that keep learners engaged and enable them to create wonderful projects that demonstrate understanding of cross-curricular outcomes.
Their latest street-view updates are now including off-road visits to wonderful places around the world. Previously, you could only drop into street view at locations where the Google cars could drive to collect their myriad of photographs. Now, the Google researchers are heading into new territory on the Google tryke (not your baby brother's tricycle) to grab even more great information that is available to us for free! Check it out! There is more update news to be found at: http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2009/12/more-street-view-updates-see-sea-see.html
